They are native to AmazôNia, Mato Grosso, Roraima, Pará, Acre (Brazil), AmazôNia, Maranhao, Amapá, and RondôNia. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Fork-tailed woodnymph and Straight-billed hermit. Individuals can grow to 20 m.
