They are native to Mata Atlântica, Rio Grande Do Sul, Eastern North America, Pampa, North America, Santa Catarina, The Contiguous United States, and Paraná. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Scotiptera, Dolerus, Triepeolus simplex, and Stizus. Individuals can grow to 3.3 feet.
