Berberis aquifolium (Berberis) is a species of shrub in the family Berberidaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, and Western North America. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Orange-rumped bumblebee, Large Carpenter Bees, Bumble Bees, and Criorhina nigripes. Individuals can grow to 8 feet.
