Mikania micrantha (Bittervine) is a species of shrub in the family Asteraceae. It is a climber. It is native to Puerto Rico, Central America, South America, Martinique, Guadeloupe, São Paulo, Espirito Santo, Pantanal, Minas Gerais, Amazônia, Rondônia, Cerrado, Paraná, Ceará, Santa Catarina, Rio de Janeiro, Acre (Brazil), Maranhao, Rio Grande do Sul, Bahia, Amazônia, Pampa, Pará, Distrito Federal, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mata Atlântica, Caatinga, Amapá, Mato Grosso, and Roraima. Bittervine has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Eristalis. Bittervine is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 4.9 m.
