Centaurea jacea (Brown Knapweed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by meadow brown, Syrphus, Halictus, and Danaus plexippus. Individuals can grow to 0.51 m.
