Carlina vulgaris (Carline Thistle) is a species of biennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and achene. Flowers are visited by Satyrium w-album, Common Branded Skipper, and Lysandra bellargus. Individuals can grow to 0.26 m.
