Centaurea nigra (Lesser Knapweed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and achene. Flowers are visited by Osmia leaiana, Helophilus hybridus, Bombus lapidarius, and Large garden bumblebee. Individuals can grow to 61 cm.
