Echinops sphaerocephalus (great globethistle) is a herb species of plants in the family Asteraceae, with a self-supporting growth habit. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Dolichovespula sylvestris (Scopoli 1763) and Dolichovespula media (Retz. 1783). It is a photoautotroph.
