Miliolina is a suborder of foraminifers. There are 3826 species of Miliolina, in 416 genera and 28 families. This suborder has been around since the carboniferous period. It includes groups like Squamulinidae, Fabulariidae, and Myriastylidae. Dead Miliolina form calcareous oozes. They are sessile organisms.

It accumulates more rapidly than any other pelagic sediment type, with a rate that varies from 0.3 - 5 cm / 1000 yr.
