Similar to M. andersonii but more slender, longer snout and has fewer trunk-rings, normally 14 versus 15-17 (Ref. 48635).Description: Characterized by dark brown color with 8-12 narrow whitish bars across back; head, trunk and tail ridges usually with small white spots; 10 caudal rays; rings 14-15 + 37-31; discontinuous superior trunk and tail ridges; inferior trunk ridge ends at anal ring; continuous lateral trunk ridge with inferior tail ridge; length of snout 2.2-2.5 in head length; depth of snout 2.9-4.0 in snout length; head length 6.9-7.8 in SL (Ref. 90102).
