Steno bredanensis (G. Cuvier ex Lesson 1828)

Steno bredanensis is a species of mammals in the family Delphinidae. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to Indian Ocean, Asia, The Neotropics, Ethiopia, Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and The Nearctic. They are nocturnal carnivores. Individuals are known to live for 384 months and can grow to 280 cm. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on swimming and lift powered swimming to move around.

Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled. It also includes so-called "look-alike species", i.e. species whose specimens in trade look like those of species listed for conservation reasons.
