Myoidea is a superfamily of mussels. There are 140 species of Myoidea, in 20 genera and 2 families. This superfamily has been around since the middle triassic epoch. It includes groups like Box Clams and Softshell Clam. Dead Myoidea form shallow marine sediments. They have sexual reproduction. They are facultatively mobile animals.
