Description: While driving on the highway, we spotted a large number of black birds - large ones - land in a field ~100 m on the side of the highway. A quick turn revealed a number of these lovely birds along with the Black Ibis. I had never gotten this close to these birds and it was only due to the road being around 10 feet higher than the ground. The bird was alert, but let me take a couple of shots. Since the sun was right in front of me, didn't spend much time there! The nape is lovely red and looks like some poorly made wig. :) Many thanks in advance for your views / comments. Much appreciated!. Date: 24 February 2020, 15:58. Source: A Red Naped IBIS. Author: Hari K Patibanda.

Description: The ground is wet from rains over the past few days and a couple of Ibises dropped by for a visit. They would dig up the ground with their beaks and catch an insect in their beak tips. Then they would throw them in their air and carry it till the mouth where they would gulp it. An interesting exercise to watch. Thanks in advance for your view and feedback. Please stay safe and healthy. Date: 8 June 2020, 09:24. Source: A Red Naped Ibis grabbing an insect for meal. Author: Hari K Patibanda.
