Ciconia nigra (Black Stork) is a species of birds in the family Ciconiidae. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Ethiopia and the Palearctic. They are solitary, diurnal carnivores. They have parental care (paternal care, female provides care, and pair provides care). They rely on flight to move around.

Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled.
