Harpia harpyja (Harpy Eagle) is a species of birds in the family Accipitridae. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are native to The Neotropics. They are diurnal carnivores. They have parental care (paternal care, pair provides care, and female provides care). They rely on flight and gliding to move around.

  • Definition: Appendix I lists species that are the most endangered among CITES-listed animals and plants. They are threatened with extinction and CITES prohibits international trade in specimens of these species except when the purpose of the import is not commercial, for instance for scientific research.
