Selasphorus rufus (Rufous Hummingbird) is a species of birds in the family hummingbirds. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. They are native to The Nearctic. They visit flowers of firecrackerbush, Palmer's century plant, Garden Nasturtium, and rose thistle. They are diurnal. They rely on flight to move around.
