Loricaroidei is a suborder of ray-finned fishes. There are 1502 species of Loricaroidei, in 168 genera and 6 families. This suborder has been around since the eocene epoch. It includes groups like Spiny Dwarf Catfishes, Pencil Catfishes, and Callichthyid Armored Catfishes. They are carnivores. They have sexual reproduction.
