Aechmea (Livingvase) is a genus of perennial herb in the family bromeliads. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and The Neotropics. Flowers are visited by Saw-billed Hermit, Phaethornis, Stephanoxis, and Violet-capped Woodnymph. Individuals can grow to 28 m.
