Cervus nippon (Japanese Sika Deer) is a species of mammals in the family Cervidae. They are native to the Palearctic, Asia, South Korea, China, Japan, Russia, Taiwan, North Korea, and Vietnam. They are solitary, nocturnal herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 305.04 months and can grow to 1200.51 mm. Reproduction is viviparous and dioecious. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on running to move around.
