Moschus chrysogaster (Alpine Musk Deer) is a species of mammals in the family musk-deer. They are listed as endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are found in the indo-malayan realm and the palearctic. They are solitary, crepuscular herbivores. Individuals can grow to 899.99 mm. Reproduction is viviparous and dioecious.

  • Definition: Appendix I lists species that are the most endangered among CITES-listed animals and plants. They are threatened with extinction and CITES prohibits international trade in specimens of these species except when the purpose of the import is not commercial, for instance for scientific research.
