Eira barbara (Tayra) is a species of mammals in the family Mustelidae. It is listed in CITES Appendix III. It is found in the Neotropics and the Nearctic. Tayra is a solitary mammalivore. Individuals are known to live for 216 months and can grow to 6600 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Tayra relies on arboreal (locomotion) to move around.
