Prunus americana (American Plum) is a species of tree in the family Rosaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Western North America, United States, The Contiguous United States, and Canada. They have simple, broad leaves and white flowers. Flowers are visited by Vanessa cardui, Red Admiral, Gray Hairstreak, and Callophrys mossii schryveri. Individuals can grow to 24 feet.
