Urceolina is a genus of South American plants in the amaryllis family native to Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, and Peru.[1][2] It has also been introduced to many South and Central American states, as well as India and Sri Lanka.[1]
The genus Eucharis Planch. & Linden was formerly regarded as a separate group, but has been treated as a synonym of Urceolina Rchb. in a recent molecular study.[3] Therefore, the species of Eucharis have been transferred to Urceolina.
As of June 2023, there are 29 accepted species in the genus:[1]
Numerous names have been coined using the name Urceolina, referring to species now considered better suited to other genera (Calicharis Caliphruria Eucharis Mathieua Plagiolirion Stenomesson Urceocharis). We here provide links to help you locate appropriate information.
