Ciliate, size variable, some individuals are 100 microns long, other up to 300 microns. Elongate and cylindrical, the body is transversely striated and contractile. Well-developed peribuccal cilia are present but the cytopharynx is indistinct. A large terminal vacuole is present, but there is no terminal cilium. Macronucleus large and terminal.
