Lycaena phlaeas (Small Copper) is a species of butterflies in the family gossamer-winged butterflies. They are native to the Palearctic. They visit flowers of goldenrod, Asclepias syriaca, Bell heather, and Common Rock-rose. They are diurnal herbivores. They rely on flight to move around.
