Scleria latifolia is a species of perennial herb in the family sedges. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to Maranhao, Pernambuco, Bahia, Paraíba, Pará, Acre (Brazil), Roraima, Ceará, Mata Atlântica, São Paulo, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Norte, Distrito Federal, Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul, Espirito Santo, Pantanal, Santa Catarina, Sergipe, Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, Alagoas, Cerrado, Paraná, Piauí, Amazônia, Amazônia, Tocantins, and Caatinga. Scleria latifolia has simple, broad leaves. It is a photoautotroph.
