Geum rivale (Water Avens) is a species of perennial herb in the family Rosaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, Greenland, and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Leucozona lucorum, Sphegina clunipes, Baccha elongata, and Archytas. Individuals can grow to 3 feet.
