A Checkered skipper, either Common, Pyrgus communis, or White, Pyrgus albescens. Or, given the ambiguity of the white markings at the tip of the forewing, possibly even the Tropical checkered skipper, Pyrgus oileus, which in Central Texas would be near the northern end of its range.
