Still working on the ID. Thought Peltigera at first, but flipping through the book I'm guessing that's not right. This appeared to be growing on branches in the canopy and then falling to the ground. None of it seemed to be actually growing on the ground, but there were pieces of it all over the place.Observed in San Mateo County, California, USA. See pic with iPhone below for scale.
