A group of Hooded Robins were chasing eachother when I recorded this. There was also an Australasian Pipit nearby. Both species can be heard in this recording.

Heavy water noise from falls and rapids on steep gradient north flowing river (to Bismarck Sea). Group of four birds observed over 4 hrs. sallying for flying insects from perches 2 to 45 m above river level at large pool. Mostly fed on either side of river occasionally leaving site. Much preening observed. Emitted high pitched call 5-7 notes with brief pause after first note.
