Sambucus canadensis (Canadian Elder) is a species of shrub in the family Adoxaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Eastern North America. They have compound, broad leaves, white flowers, and drupe. Flowers are visited by Chauliognathus marginatus, Honey bee, Green Lynx Spider, and Victoriana parvicornis. Individuals can grow to 8.2 m.
