Ricinus communis (Castor Oil Plant) is a species of tree in the family Euphorbiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Syria, Swaziland, Benin, Pakistan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Botswana, Jordan, South Africa, Egypt, Turkey, Algeria, Lesotho, Iran, Angola, Ethiopia, Morocco, Kenya, Hungary, and Israel. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Honey bee, Seladonia lucidipennis, and Broad-billed Hummingbird. Individuals can grow to 3.4 m.
