They are native to AmazôNia, Bahia, Ceará, Sergipe, Pará, U.S. Virgin Islands, The Neotropics, Mato Grosso, AmazôNia, Pernambuco, Roraima, Puerto Rico, and Mata AtlâNtica. They have simple, broad leaves.
