They are native to Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Italy, China, Zambia, Egypt, Guinea, Thailand, Albania, Madagascar, Japan, Lebanon, Morocco, Libya, The Philippines, Malawi, Zimbabwe, CôTe D’Ivoire, Cyprus, Southeast Asia, Sudan, Indonesia, Senegal, Yugoslavia, Cameroon, Spain, Ethiopia, Nepal, Malaysia, Angola, Botswana, Uganda, France, Yemen, Liberia, Nigeria, Portugal, Namibia, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, South Africa, Syria, Ghana, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Mali, Swaziland, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Algeria, India, Jordan, and Tunisia. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.67 m.
