Axonopus compressus (Broadleaf Carpetgrass) is a species of perennial herb in the family True grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, The Contiguous United States, Pantanal, RondôNia, Rio De Janeiro, Santa Catarina, GoiáS, AmazôNia, Sergipe, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo, Alagoas, Maranhao, Mato Grosso, ParaíBa, Amapá, Piauí, Mata AtlâNtica, Caatinga, Pampa, Distrito Federal, Bahia, Cerrado, Roraima, Pernambuco, Pará, Acre (Brazil), Tocantins, SãO Paulo, Rio Grande Do Sul, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Paraná, Rio Grande Do Norte, and AmazôNia. They have simple, broad leaves and white flowers. Flowers are visited by Red-billed gull and Paradise shelduck. Individuals can grow to 1.6 m.
