Euterpe edulis (Assai Palm) is a species of tree in the family palms. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Santa Catarina, Sergipe, Minas Gerais, Rio De Janeiro, Cerrado, Mata AtlâNtica, Paraná, Rio Grande Do Sul, GoiáS, Bahia, ParaíBa, Espirito Santo, SãO Paulo, Distrito Federal, Rio Grande Do Norte, Pernambuco, and Alagoas. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 12 m.
