Veratrum californicum (California False Hellebore) is a species of perennial herb in the family Melanthiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States and Western North America. They have simple, broad leaves, white flowers, and loculicidal capsule fruit. Individuals can grow to 6 feet.
