Cavia aperea (Brazilian Guinea Pig) is a species of rodents in the family guinea pigs. They are native to The Neotropics. They are solitary, crepuscular herbivores. Individuals can grow to 430 mm. Reproduction is viviparous. They have parental care (female provides care and paternal care). They rely on running to move around.
