Castor fiber (European Beaver, Eurasian Beaver) is a species of rodents in the family beavers. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to the Palearctic. They are nocturnal herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 300 months. Reproduction is dioecious and viviparous. They have parental care (cooperative breeding, paternal care, and female provides care).
