Hypoxis hirsuta (Common Goldstar) is a species of perennial herb in the family Hypoxidaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Eastern North America, The Contiguous United States, and Canada. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Cerceris prominens, Typocerus lugubris, Eastern Hornet Fly, and Sargus viridis. Individuals can grow to 0.8 feet.
