Weeping Bolete (Suillus granulatus) in grass under Pinus sp. beside Ingliston Road, Ballan, Victoria, Australia. Photographed on 1 May 2015. This is one of the largest specimens in the area and was 23cm across.Pileus up to 23 cm across in large specimens, but more commonly around 15 cm, yellow to yellow-brown when young turning a more reddish brown as they age. All the specimens I saw were dry - not viscid (became slimey after rain). Spore print a light brown to yellow brown. Flesh with a slight fruity to earthy odour. Stype to about 5 or 6 mm, white, but with a little orange toward base, slightly hollow as maturing, but not extensively so - even in old specimens.
