A Strangler Fig (Ficus obliqua) known locally as the "King of the Forest" near Pang Pang on the island of Efate, Vanuatu. Photographed on 16 March 2011.Ficus obliqua was described by Georg Forster in 1786 from type material gathered from Vanuatu. The species also occurs in Australia, New Guinea and other Pacific Islands.Although a crop wild relative, the fruits are not eaten.
