Panicum capillare subsp. capillare is a native annual grass that often grows in disturbed, lower elevational areas with sufficient moisture, here showing off its red-purple spikelets. Sept. 5, 2014, along Holladay Blvd. near the newly acquired park area in the vicinity of Knudsen's Corner, Salt Lake County, Utah, growing with dense Conyza canadensis and juvenile Typha latifolia, at approx. 4,580 ft. elev.
