Image of Ochetellus glaber (Mayr 1862)

Description:
Living indoors in the Wildland Consulting office at Barrington and scavenging kitchen scraps. I was told that Brian Patrick had just keyed these out as the Australian house ant, which according to the NZ ant book is only found Nelson and north. Brian wasn't in at the time to ask so it would be useful to check my ID here.
