Description: English: Torreya californica grows leaves that resemble a yew when in dense subcanopy shade. This sapling is in a population of many saplings and some multi-stem mature specimens in Sequoia National Park, 4100 foot elevation, along Hwy 198 near milepost 4000, about 50 yards southward of the pullout near the 4000 foot elevation marker on the road edge.
