Description:
Description: English: Polistes apachus - drinking from puddle, standing on water using surface tension, in situ in Woodward County, Oklahoma, photo by CalinsDad 25 July 2018. This species is often found drinking in such a fashion. Proliferation of sources of open water due to urbanisation and agriculture has likely been advantageous to this otherwise xeric species. Note this specimen lacks the usual thin two yellow lateral lines on the scutellum. Date: 25 July 2018. Source: https://www.gbif.org/occurrence/1883962874. Author: CalinsDad.
