Emilia sonchifolia (Lilac Tasselflower) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to US Minor Outlying Islands, The Contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Alagoas, Pernambuco, Espirito Santo, Rio De Janeiro, SãO Paulo, Ceará, Piauí, Maranhao, Pará, Bahia, Sergipe, Mata AtlâNtica, Rio Grande Do Norte, AmazôNia, Minas Gerais, AmazôNia, ParaíBa, Cerrado, and Caatinga. They have simple, simple leaves. Flowers are visited by Least Skipper, Antillean Blue, Cassius Blue, and Halictus poeyi. Individuals can grow to 1 m.
