Arundo donax (Giant Reed) is a species of shrub in the family True grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Western North America, Iraq, Lebanon, India, Libya, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Algeria, Nepal, Myanmar, Japan, Tunisia, Taiwan, Jordan, Syria, Afghanistan, Southeast Asia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Georgia, Egypt, Iran, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, China, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan. They have simple, simple leaves. Individuals can grow to 9 feet.
