Matt Reinbold

About me

I am an amateur photographer and photo-editor, and long-time animal enthusiast. I have been keeping, observing, and researching animals all my life. I specialize in reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and birds, but have an interest in all living things and a knack for identification and taxonomy.

I enjoy teaching others, and have been a speaker at local schools on occasion. My photographs are usually biology-themed and are almost always available for free use, especially for educational and scientific purposes.

Up until Flickr destroyed itself, I actively created and ran the world's largest database for myriapod photos in the world. Although participation is down, it still exists and I check up on the group, now and then.

Most of my publicly available photos are found on EOL, and a few have been featured in brochures or articles about EOL. You may also find my photographs around the internet on various sites.

I have been known to exhibit skill in identification of animal species around the world, of many varieties, with emphasis on myriapods, reptiles, large mammals, birds, and fauna of North America, particularly central and eastern United States. Considerably less expertise is applied to aquatic invertebrates and worms.
