John Tann commented on an older version of Red bull ant:

@Patrick Leary: Patrick, Thanks for correcting a wrong association here. Do you know what happens now? Will this image also be untrusted as an image of an ant, or is it just untrusted as an image of a plant? Do I sit back and wait for it all to be fixed, or should I be doing something? John

John Tann commented on an older version of Snakeweed in the wild:

@Jason Sharp: Jason, this is an interesting one.

C W Andrews found Stachytarpheta indica growing at Flying Fish Cove when he visited Christmas Island in 1897.

The Australian Plant Name Index suggests that this plant has had the name Stachytarpheta jamaicensis wrongly applied in Flora of Australia, volume 50 and also the name Stachytarpheta cayennensis wrongly applied by Munir, A.A. (1992) A taxonomic revision of Stachytarpheta Vahl (Verbenaceae) in Australia, Journal of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens 14(2).

To the untrained eye, this plant is not uncommon on Christmas Island. Only one species of Stachytarpheta was reported (though given the wrong name) in the Flora of Australia, volume 50, 1992 (expand the Hierarchical Names List Entry).

I would be surprised if it were me photographing something new.
